An anagram is a word or a phrase that contains the exact same letters as the word or phrase it is an anagram of. (And yes, that means both are anagrams of each other.)

For example, 'eager' is an anagram of 'agree' (and vice versa). They both use the set of letters {a, e, e, g, r} in its entirety and exclusively.

There are anagram finders that work based on huge dictionaries of words. These have the major advantage that you do not need to remember words, which is great if your name is not James Joyce! Their disadvantage is that they need to limit themselves: if they were to include, for example, the name of every river on the planet, nobody would understand the resulting anagrams anymore. But you, you are free to use the name of a local river that your friends will understand.

This anagram finder is based on a tool written by Onno Zweers called Sater, if I remember correctly. I can no longer find it on his website — or rather, I can no longer find his website, — so I decided to roll my own.
